The J-League was established in 1992 as a result of
unsuccessful amateur based JSL-Japan Soccer League. The establishment of
J-League was not just like that. Commitment and Determination pushed them to
invent and start another league which is not pure amateur and more professional
with 100 years plan.
The J.League soccer season resumed on Saturday
23rd April after a 6 week enforced break caused by the Tohoku earthquake and
tsunami. Vegalta Sendai from Miyagi came from behind for an emotional victory
at Kawasaki Frontale.
The following teams namely Gamba Osaka, JEF United Ichihara,
Nagoya Grampus Eight, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Urawa Red Diamonds, Verdy Kawasaki,
Yokohama Flügels, and Yokohama Marinos were in the previous JSL and altogether
formed the current j-league.
The first season of J-Lague started in 1993. In one of
remarkable success of the league 4 clubs all from J-league qualified for Asian
Champions League in the year 2009.
Currently 3 teams called Consadole Sapporo, Vissel Kobe and
Gamba Osaka have been delegated.
The new Champion is Sanfrecce
Hiroshima.
